The Cambridge Young Writers' Inter School Essay Competition was held at Cambridge Primary School, New Friends Colony on October 23, 2008. Twenty eight schools of Delhi participated.

Mrs. Shefali Ray, who is by profession an English Language Teaching Consultant and an author of children's books, judged the essays. Ananya Pandey of The Shri Ram School and Sangram Singh of R. S. Junior Modern School won the prize for the best essays in English and Bhavya Ghai of The Mother's International School and Vithika Bisht of Amity International School, Mayur Vihar won the prize for the best essays in Hindi. R. S. Junior Modern School bagged the best team prize.
